The first recipe I've ever posted - Turkey Chilli

Last night I cooked, cleaned, did laundry, and all other things domestic. I read cooking blogs like this one (you need go to the bottom and click older posts to start seeing cooking stuff...) but never thought of posting a recipe here. Although I do like to cook, especially when I get to cook for someone, I am an average cook. And if you have read this blog well, it isn't a cooking blog! (chuckle) Still this one is worth posting because it was really good. I got the recipe from a friend of mine who is a cooking professor (and a lesbian), a wonderful combination don't you think. So if you cook, here you go.

You can make this on the stove or in a Crockpot. I actually just threw all this in the crockpot. O, and it has a bit of a kick.

Turkey Chili

1 bag frozen corn
1 bunch chopped cilantro
1 lb ground turkey (brown first)
1 bay leaf
2 cans kidney beans
2 jalapeƱos chopped
2 red onions, chopped
1/2 can of tomato paste
2 cans chopped tomatoes
2 cans of beer (goes in last - use any kind)
1/4 cup chili powder
salt and pepper to taste

1) cook onion, garlic, with 2 tbs oil
2) brown turkey
3) Put it all together and cook.
4) Top with cilantro and sour cream.

* I have a smaller Crockpot so this is how I changed the recipe. I browned the turkey and then put all of this in a crockpot. I just did 1 can of kidney beans, a bit less onion and corn and only one can of beer. But it still was just as good I think.

I'll have to give it a try! We've been trying to eat healthier and turkey's always good for that. Thanks for the link. ;)
