I haven’t been seeing any of my blogger friends posting the "Eight Things meme", so I am going to share eight random things about me and then tag them to see if any of them will play or see if any of you will play. (Please play ☺) And consider yourself tagged if you have a blog. All you have to do is share any eight things about yourself. You could even do it in the comments. :)
1. I love mushrooms. Don’t know why but I adore them and sometimes crave them. If a dish has mushrooms I’ll probably like it.
2. I have had a mad crush on Dr. Callie Torres from Gray’s Anatomy (Sara Ramirez) since she started on Gray’s.
3. I listen to NPR every morning and on Sunday’s I often wake up at 6 a.m. just to hear Speaking of Faith with Krista Tippet. If you’ve read my blog you know I’m a huge fan! Yesterday I listened to the podcast about Aimee Semple McPherson who was renowned for her theatrically staged sermons, rich with costumes, props, and lighting.
4. I am allergic to cats and some dogs and some birds. It’s awful! I hate it.
5. For all my love of simple living and my desire to not be materialist etc. I still am. Why do I know this? Because I covet the apple iphone, new VW Eco convertible!
6. I am also addicted to Starbucks and I trying really hard to go less. Wish me luck!
7. The suburbs totally scare me. If I miss a turn or get lost it always feels like I have to drive 20 minutes to get back where I need to be. I love the city for a lot of reasons but the main one is that when I get lost I just turn around at the next block.
8. I like a ton of artists but for a long time, (since college) my favorite artist has been the late Keith Haring. I like simple shapes and bright colors.
Now I am tagging zuzu, M, Dawn and anyone else who wants to play along (like tc or Sarah or ....? If you play along post a comment because I will want to read what you write. ☺

Does the EOS VW have any storage/trunk room? Is it electric (I couldn't tell)? - Zuzu
Not electric, it does have a trunk. And the wow feature is that I loved my old car (a vw cabrio they've discontinued) I don't love vw bug convertibles so this is their new convertible. AND it's both hard top (with a sun roof) and a convertible. So lovely...
Here ya go! Nothing too deep

1. I have a REALLY good sense of smell. I am usually the first among a group of people to be able to pick up on whatever is wafting our way and am able to distinguish it.
2. I LOVE to quilt and I LOVE fabric. I honestly wish that I could be a stay-at-home mom some day and just quilt and sew clothes.
3. I used to want to grow up and be an animator for Disney. I was really good at drawing and then I just stopped for some reason...I'm not sure why.
4. As a general rule, I don't like fruits and vegetables. Unless they are smothered in butter or a cream sauce, I'd rather not partake. (I DO like mushrooms though.)
5. I spent 3 months as a beach bum/surfer in Puerto Escondido, Mexico and a month on an archaeology excavation...I loved every minute of it. See my pictures! - (http://flickr.com/photos/10437570@N07/collections/72157600985439598/)
6. Unless my friend Kris is performing, I have zero desire to go to a comedy club, go to a concert, see improv, or watch a musical/broadway. ZERO desire.
7. I am shy around people I don't know, which seems to come across as snobby...not sure why, cause really I am just shy, like any other person.
8. I am on a constant quest to find my favorite pair of jeans. It's been many years since this quest began. Some have come close, and I have worn them into the ground, but my perfect pair is illusive. Maybe this is how it goes for everyone, but it really bugs me. I JUST can't find them!
Go see my January 10, 2006 post. It's only five things, but I'm horrible at thinking stuff up.

Oh, and Sarah's number 1 and number 4 totally apply to me, too! Word for word, that's me. Add to number one the fact that it totally creeps people out sometimes. And add to number four that I ate some cucumber at lunch, slathered in ranch dressing.

How fun is this! :) Thanks for posting all or refering to your post!
what a weird coincidence, my X H just bought one of those cars, and an antique Chev Malibu, 1965. both of them. BUT he only pays me $240 a month in child support. I didn't know how much those cost until I just lool at your link. kinda depressing, but oh well, at least I don't have to sleep with him.
I drive a 99 minivan with 160,000 miles on it.
yeah. life is still good.
1) I'm a closet foodie. Yesterday I made the blackberry ice cream featured on page 72 of tastespotting.com. The blackberries were picked fresh from my neighbor's bush that hangs over the fence (and only seems to berry on my side.. I have blackberry stains on my carpet from a recent pruning fiasco that the dog rushed through enroute to an errant cat.) Today I made lemon sherbet with lemons I'd juiced and froze in mid-summer.
2) I'm 19 weeks pregnant with my first (and only!) baby girl. She'll arrive for her first trip around the sun in early '08 and her name is Zoe. Ice cream makes Zoe happy.
3) I'm shy, but I feel more comfortable speaking behind a podium to a congress of ten thousand people than I do in a cocktail party of thirty strangers. A cocktail party of thirty friends.... now that's a different story.
4) I bought a Moro blood orange tree in March and still haven't planted it.
5) I love to write poetry.
6) Often I don't go out at night (other than the occasional dinner out) because I don't want the dog to by alone or lonely.
7) When I walk in the forest, I name all the plants. It's the Eve in me, wanting to name things. I tell my mother the names of the plants and flowers as we walk... she's terribly impressed that I know them all. I've tried to explain that I know them because I've made them up - she doesn't wholly understand it.
8) I'm happiest when: I'm writing poetry; taking photographs; walking the dog; sitting in the hot tub (with an ice cold glass of pino grigio); hiking with my mom; laughing with ed; drinking home-brewed lavender soda; riding my new beach cruiser bicycle; swimming; snorkling the Superhighway; getting a massage; singing; painting; making crafts; at the flea market with my friend Li$a... and on and on and on....
zuzu - Wow now that's quite the amazing eight things! I love them. And it made me want to get on a plane to experience them too. Particularly homemade lavender soda! :)
I posted mine.
That VW looks amazing, but I've had so many problems with my Beetle as of late, I'm weary to get another VW. Oh and I don't have an extra 30 grand. ;)
I've tried a many strategies for extracting lavender... soaking it in vodka for a lavender extract failed miserably. What worked was a very easy simple syrup.... if you want to know how to make it, let me know and I'll email you.. put a spot of that in charged water of your choosing and presto.. you have home brewed lavender soda.. it's tres nummy and very easy to make. Unfortunately, pregnant ladies aren't supposed to ingest lavender.. bummer..
