I heart the four agreements

Just a follow up on last night. I think that what was the most helpful was the book "the four agreements" and remembering what they are. I also journaled and named what was weird. Some of it was oddness with my landlady, that made me feel a bit invaded. She came down into my apartment last night without knocking.

Anyway - here are the four agreements. I love them and find thinking of them is always helpful.

1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don't Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don't Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.

Oh my word. I need to go read this book. It is putting to words the thoughts I've been having lately about who I need to be/become. Thanks for sharing these.

Those are really good principles and yet more food for thought. Thanks.

Hey you,
I just bought the box set of The Four Agreements. Am going to start on it tonight, my sister told me last week about it, that her therapist had recommended it. Then someone else brought it up in conversation. And this morning I saw your post. I knew as soon as I saw your blog title that something bigger in this world was telling me to buy it.
Have a good one....

Hi all. Wouldn't it be great if everyone lived the four agreements!

Thanks much for your comments. Always good to see you (virtually of course)
