Time to gear up for fall, but I wish I was still canoeing

Hello anyone still left reading. I got back from vacation late last night. As you probably could tell from my pictures I was on vacation in North Carolina. Activities included camping, hiking, canoeing (that's lo in the pic), a lovely North Carolina winery (who know NC had great wineries!), and time with Lo's friends and family.

Today I am preparation for fall mode. Anything fun that I haven't done won't be done now. Because in a week I start school, internship, and my crazy work schedule.

Deep, deep, breathe.

My happy thought is: although I don't know why it works this way, the busier I am the more I get done. For example, when I am working, in school, and doing other things I seem to get so much more done than in the summer when I have lots of free time to do things. Does that happen for anyone else? When I have lots of time I don't get much accomplished. When I have no time I seem to get all kinds of extra things done. Weird. It's like I got into hyper-speed. There's no wasted time.

Yup, I have that same problem. I can have a whole week with no extra work and the whole house will look like a cyclone smacked into it. But if it's a week where there is a lot of extra work or plans with friends, then tons of stuff gets done. It seems that that if I have something to look forward to doing, then I'm more motivated to get organized. But if I'm just being lazy and relaxing with no plans, then I'm usually bored and depressed and not only does nothing get done, it gets really, really messy. It is a strange phenomenon isn't it?

Glad you're enjoying North Carolina. If you ever end up moving there, we'll definitely have to plan a meeting.

And yes, I experience the same thing with the freak time vs. work done. I think it comes down to focus. When I'm unfocused/relaxed, I am not as efficient. When I'm focused, I'm a beast at accomplishing things. :)
